Cookie Policy
Every cookie we set, and the ones we deliberately do not.
Last updated: 22 September 2026
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token (or __Secure-authjs.session-token) | Identifies your signed-in session. Without it you would be logged out on every page load, and the site could not load your strategies, history or credits. | Strictly necessary | Until you sign out, or 30 days |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects the sign-in flow against cross-site request forgery — it makes sure a sign-in request really came from your browser. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| learn_admin | Set only when an administrator verifies with the site's admin credentials. It marks that verification on that browser. Ordinary users never receive this cookie. | Strictly necessary | 12 hours |
| _ga / _ga_1YZ7G6N4MF (Google Analytics) | Measures which pages and features get used, so we can tell what is worth improving. Set only after you accept in the consent banner; it stores a random client identifier and the pages you visit, not your account details. | Analytics — only with your consent | Up to 2 years |
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. It is how a website recognises that two requests came from the same browser — which is what makes staying signed in possible. Cookies are not programs and cannot read anything on your device.
2. Our approach
SoloTrade uses as few cookies as it can. The session, CSRF and administrator cookies are strictly necessary — the site cannot work without them. The one exception is Google Analytics, which we load only after you agree to it (see the banner on your first visit, and the change-my-choice control at the end of this page). We do not use advertising cookies and we do not use cross-site tracking.
Google Analytics is not strictly necessary, so it is off until you turn it on: no analytics cookie is set and nothing is sent unless you accept. Declining is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time. This page lists that cookie, as we promised it would before it was ever set.
3. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or measurement cookies other than Google Analytics — and that one is set only after you accept.
- No cross-site tracking or social media pixels.
- No cookies set by embedded third-party video or widgets on the learning pages.
4. Preferences stored on your device
Your dark or light theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so it is never transmitted to our servers. It stays on your device until you clear your browser data. This is a storage mechanism, not a cookie, and it is covered here so the picture is complete.
5. Managing and removing cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser settings — every major browser has a section for this, usually under Privacy or Site Data. Blocking our session cookie will sign you out and prevent you from using any account feature, but the public tools and reading material will keep working.
Clearing cookies does not delete your account or the records stored on our servers. To remove those, use the delete controls on your account page, or ask us.

Change your analytics choice
Your choice is stored only in this browser. Clearing it below brings the banner back so you can accept or decline again.
